Hi, I am Lana, a wife, mum, Mortgage Adviser, a new blogger, former banker and former teacher. I am a juggler of all good things and believe life is a celebration! Well, that’s most of the time! At other times, you don’t want to know me 🙂
What do I love?
I love a whole load of things, but a few things are core to me. For starters, I love my family. They are my heart and soul and are the epicentre of my being. They are a source of nourishment and strength. I love spending time with them, even though you may find me disappearing for fresh air after I spend a few minutes with them 😉
My inner circle
We are a family of four – DH, myself and our two girls. I love my extended family as well, and they are scattered all around the world. So most of our holidays are spent travelling to meet them and hence Amsterdam and Bombay and Brisbane are our favourite places on the globe.
My life map
I have been living in the UK for the last five years, and I love everything about it. I love the English weather, although everyone cribs out it. It is unpredictable, and you can enjoy all the seasons on a given day. How cool is that?
Before that, I lived in the desert land of Qatar for around eight odd years. My kids were born in this beautiful country, and I will always have a soft spot for it. I had many firsts in Qatar. I enjoyed motherhood, learned to drive, drove a four-wheeler, switched careers, had my first surgery, removed an organ and many more. So Qatar taught me a lot of things.
I am originally from India and spent 66% of my life in Mumbai, one of the largest cities in India. I have a love-hate relationship with the country, but let’s leave it at that! My friends called me ‘Lana from Thana’ because I was born and bought up in a small town called Thana. I also have Portuguese heritage, which I inherited from my grandmother, so I like to call myself a global citizen.
My experiences
Well, the sum of my experiences is that life is a roller coaster ride; some days are good, and some are not as good. But since we’ve got just one life, I think its wise to make the best of it-that means taking everything in your stride and letting go of things that do not serve you. Well, I know that’s easier said than done, but we can at least try, can’t we?
My quirks
l also love things to be neat, clean, structured and organised. I am also a stickler for details. I repeatedly go overboard, but now I know where to draw the line!
What do I love?
I love reading and can devour books within no time. I can binge read and I read multiple books at a time. To maximise the number of books I read, I have different kindle accounts! I currently enjoy books on self-development, Psychology, spirituality, religion and philosophy.
I also love to write and give my opinion on many things! I never got the time to do it before, so now, I’ve dedicated this blog to doing just that. (Sorry folks, it was left pent up for a long time!) 🙂
So here’s the invite…
Izaak Walton said, ‘ Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter’, so join the ride and let’s have fun together.
